Jacqui Bess is a classically-trained pianist and violinist residing in Clarkston, Michigan. She is owner of Bess Piano Studio as an independent private piano instructor and freelance violin consultant with over two decades of teaching experience. Jacqui is also a performer, studio musician, accompanist, collaborative pianist and chamber musician, and adjudicator. Jacqui served as a Center Chairman for Michigan Music Festival for ten years, and most recently has founded the organization Virtual Association of International Musicians (VAIM).
Jacqui holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Oakland University followed by graduate studies in Piano Pedagogy at Michigan State University. She has studied piano under Flavio Varani, David Karp (Southern Methodist University), Joyce Adelson, and Mary Siciliano; violin instructors include Igor Borodin (University of North Texas) and Anatoli Cheiniouk (founding member of the Moscow Virtuosi). Notable performances include chamber musician in Aub, Germany, and Sicily, Italy; soloist with Oakland Symphony Orchestra and Royal Oak Symphony Orchestra; guest artist/clinician appearances at Macomb Center for Performing Arts and Oakland University; studio recording on a film score and a pop album.
